MINISTRY of SPORT signs contract
The system provides the coaches, amongst others, the position, speed and heart rate of the skaters. This information is provided real-time, so even during the training. By using the real time available data, the coaches can check or improve the races of their skaters and develop new strategies. For speed skaters, the difference between winning and losing is often a matter of a few hundredths of a second. By applying this system, the Russian Skating Union has taken an important step in the preparations for the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver. Inmotio installed a similar system in the Thialf stadium in Heerenveen, the Netherlands and in the German ice rink in Berlin, where the performance of the national elite speed skaters are successfully analysed.
