MINSPORTTOURIZM and Russian Skating Union gave Inmotio the assignment to install a performance-analysis system in the ice stadium in Kolomna (Moscow region). This summer Inmotio will implement its innovative performance monitoring system lpmSkate3D® in the ice stadium. The Russian Skating Union is thereby taking an important step in the development and improvement of the physical and tactical performance measurement of the Russian national speed skating team.

The system provides the coaches, amongst others, the position, speed and heart rate of the skaters. This information is provided real-time, so even during the training. By using the real time available data, the coaches can check or improve the races of their skaters and develop new strategies.

For speed skaters, the difference between winning and losing is often a matter of a few hundredths of a second. By applying this system, the Russian Skating Union has taken an important step in the preparations for the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver.

Inmotio installed a similar system in the Thialf stadium in Heerenveen, the Netherlands and in the German ice rink in Berlin, where the performance of the national elite speed skaters are successfully analysed.
