German Ice skating Federation (D.E.S.G.) buys LPM Skate 3D®

Press release

Berlin, August, 7th 2008

Inmotio and the German Ice skating Federation (D.E.S.G.) have entered into an agreement regarding the improvement of the performance of the German top class skaters. Inmotio will implement its innovative performance monitoring system "LPM Skate 3D®" in the ice stadium in Berlin.

This monitoring system enables coaches to analyze physical and technical performances of the skaters during and after the training sessions. The system provides ,amongst others, the position, speed and heart rate of the skaters. This information is provided real time, so even during the training. By using the real time available data, the coaches can check or improve the buildup of the race and develop new strategies.

For speed skaters, the difference between winning and losing is often a matter of a few hundredths of a second. By applying this system, the German skaters will take a huge step in improving their performance.

The Dutch company Inmotio delivers and installs the new performance monitoring system. The system has been successfully applied by the Dutch top class skaters in the Thialf stadium in Heerenveen, the Netherlands. Shortly, the German coaches Bart Schouten and Markus Eicher as well as the German top class skaters will use the system in the ice stadium in Berlin.
