In top sports the future is never fast enough. Good is never good enough, you should always exceed or you’ll be outrun Ice rink Thialf in Heerenveen innovative test lab. With the words: "In top sports the future is never fast enough. Good is never good enough, you should always exceed or you'll be outrun." Henk Gemser, member of the Board of the Dutch National Olympic Committee NOC*NSF opened the InnoSportlab in Thialf on January 15, 2008. Ice rink Thialf in Heerenveen is, besides the National Sports Centre ‘Papendal' (Arnhem), PSV training centre ‘De Herdgang' and swimming pool ‘De Tongelreep' (Eindhoven), one of the InnoSportlabs where new promising innovations can be examined and can be put into practice. Thialf has been equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Which results in accurate measurements of skaters during a training session, done in their own performance environment on location. One of these measurement systems is LPM Skate 3D® of Inmotio Object tracking. This user-friendly system enables the Dutch speed skating trainers to analyze all sorts of accurate data, such as: instant speed, lap time and heart rate of the skaters both both during and after a training session. Additionally you can choose 3D-animation view, the system provides an impression of the positions of the skaters. This viewing mode enables the trainer to watch the skating lines of their skaters from any position around the skating rink. « Back |
