Russian Skating Union to implement second monitoring system in Moscow

Russian Skating Union

The Russian Ministry of Sports, in co-operation with the Russian Skating Federation has signed a contract with Inmotio for a second monitoring system lpmSkate3D®, this time in ice-skating hall Krylatskoye in Moscow.

By applying this system, the Russian Skating Union is taking an important step in the preparations for the 2014 Olympic Games which will be held in their own country, in Sochi, Russia.

For speed skating, the difference between winning and losing is often a matter of a few hundredths of a second. The system provides the coaches, amongst others, the position, speed and heart rate of the skaters on the track. This information is provided real-time, so even during the training. By using the real time available data, the coaches can analyse and improve the races of their skaters and develop new strategies.

Inmotio previously successfully installed  lpmSkate3D® in the Thialf stadium in Heerenveen (the Netherlands), the German speed skating hall Sportforum in Berlin and the ice rink in Kolomna in Russia where the performance of the national elite speed skaters are successfully analysed. After the implementation of lpmSkate3D®  in Kolomna, the analysis system will be introduced in Krylatskoye. Inmotio has planned to install the system in Moscow in the spring.
